Are You Publishing on Amazon and BN.com Yet?

By Denise Wakeman

In the last two weeks I've had the good fortune to interview two experts who have spilled the beans (and I mean they both are the definition of "over deliver") on how to use Amazon.com and BN.com (Barnes and Noble) to get visibility, credibilty and create passive streams of income.

If you missed the interview with Marnie Pehrson of IdeaMarketers.com, who took her book to bestseller status on Amazon in about 5 hours, you can get access to the audio replay here. She shared a lot of details that most people would not usually divulge in a free, no strings interview.

If you missed the high energy, content-packed webinar with Daniel Hall of Real Fast Book, on how to publish your content on BN.com's Nook eReader, you're in luck. He's making the webinar replay available for a few days. And he's not kidding. The replay disappears on Monday 6/20.

Ideas Into Income – What Lessons Have You Learned? [Contest]

By Denise Wakeman

Trust Your Heart: Transform Your Ideas Into IncomeThe recent publication of Trust Your Heart: Transform Your Ideas Into Income, compiled by Marnie Pehrson, revealed the stories of 19 entrepreneurs who trusted their instincts (gut, heart, intuition) and were able to build successful businesses despite many obstacles and challenges. One of my favorite parts of each chapter are the "Lessons Learned." This is where you get true insights into how each entrepreneur was able to prevail and create the business of their dreams.

While I know you expect tips and tactics for for marketing your business on the Web, it's also important to look beyond the marketing tactics to the strategies and activities necessary to establish your awesome business.

I want to know what lessons have helped you on your path to entrepreneurial success. So, I'm having a contest and giving away a copy of Trust Your Heart. Simply answer the following question…

What's the most important lesson you've learned as you have created your business and transformed your ideas into income?

Two ways to enter:

  1. Post your lesson learned in the comment box below.
  2. Use the Twitter or Retweet button to share this post and your lesson. Use hashtag #bizlesson so I can track the tweets.

The contest is open through Wednesday, June 8 and I'll pick two winners: one from the comments posted and one from the tweets. I'll announce the winnes on June 9.

That's it. Here's one of the lessons I learned and share in Trust Your Heart:

Model the leaders. I was following the leaders [in my industry], but I didn't stop there. Implementation is everything when you're in the "idea to income" phase. When you discover a strategy or tactic that is working for someone else in your industry, study it and figure out how you can adapt it to your idea.

In addition to the "lesson learned" contest, you also have a chance to win a copy of Trust Your Heart when I interview Marnie Pehrson next Tuesday, June 7.

I'll be giving away a copy of the book during the interview. The interview is going to focus specifcally on how Marnie turned her idea for the book into a bestseller on Amazon using social media to build massive visibility, buzz and drive traffic and sales. Marnie used some creative tactics to hit bestseller status in less than 24 hours. You'll want to be on this call and it's free! Register here to get the dial in details and post your questions for Marnie. You've got to be on the live call to be eligible to win the book.

There you have it…I'm looking forward to reading the lessons you've learned on the road to entrepreneurial success…now go post and tweet!

Beyond Article Marketing – Interview with IdeaMarketers Founder, Marnie Pehrson

By Denise Wakeman

Marnie-Pehrson

Last year I interviewed some of my colleagues about online marketing so I could glean some of their tips and insights on what's required to have a successful business with an online component. In this interview, I talk with Marnie Pehrson, founder of IdeaMarketers.com, the oldest article marketing site on the Web. You may also know Marnie Pehrson as the author and publisher of the brand new bestseller, Trust Your Heart: Transform Your Ideas Into Income (I'll be doing another intervview with Marnie about how she created massive visibility and a bestseller using social marketing tactics.)

Listen to the audio interview or read on…

MP3 File

Denise: Today I'm pleased to have the opportunity to speak with my colleague and joint venture partner, Marnie Pehrson. I've been following Marnie's business IdeaMarketers, for a very long time. A couple of years ago we landed in a Master Mind group together and most recently we co-hosted the Radiant Success Event: a live, 3 day event in Raleigh, North Carolina with 3 other colleagues.

Marnie Pehrson is a wonder woman. I am constantly amazed by this woman. She's a mother of 6, author of numerous books, founder of the oldest article directory on the web, and creator of more projects and businesses than I have time to cover.

Marnie also recently launched a new online magazine called "Ideas to Income" and we'll learn a little bit more about that in a minute.

The purpose of today's conversation is to learn Marnie's perspective on creating visibility with content and why that is so important. Welcome Marnie.

Marnie: Thank you Denise. It's great to be here.

Denise: I've been wanting to have a chat with you for some time now. Especially after seeing your presentation at the Radiant Success Event because it all clicked.

First, could you give us the nutshell version of your background just to set the stage.

Marnie: Nutshell version of my background. How far do you want me to go back?

How to Turn Your Ideas into Cash [Recommended Reading]

By Denise Wakeman

blankDo you have an idea spinning inside your brain, but wonder if it could ever really make any money?

You're not alone.  Thousands of folks have done it – really turned their ideas into cash.  But it's kind of a miracle, right?  I mean, these folks just got lucky breaks.  Surely.

Trust Your Heart: Turn Your Ideas into Income, the new book from IdeaMarketers.com showcases 19 very different individuals who once sat in the same spot you are.  Wanting to develop an idea and market it, but just wondering how.

The publisher, Marnie Pehrson, called a few weeks ago to ask if I would write a chapter for her book. At first I was reluctant.

Being a pragmatic person, I didn't know how I could approach the topic from the "touchy feely" perspective. I almost said no and then I asked a friend to help me tell my story. She interviewed me and I had the interview transcribed. I discovered I had a lot more to say and was able to turn my ramblings into a chapter for the book.
