Apply the 6 Cs to Your Content
It’s all about showing up.
I think it was in 2007 or so when I first started really focusing on Visibility.
As the Web grew and new platforms were rapidly launching, it became essential for online business owners to focus on getting found on the web, and the way to do it was by boosting their online visibility.
At the time, my attention was on business blogging. Then Twitter started getting a lot of buzz, and then Facebook, and then … you probably get the point.
I have no idea how many social media platforms there are on the Web now, but I do know there are more platforms than any person can keep up with or needs to be active on.
It’s also never been more important to be visible to your community and ideal audience than it is today.
And the key to visibility is CONSISTENCY.

I used to be more consistent about posting Visibility Tips on Instagram, though I’ve scaled back in the last few months. I did a search for Tips posts and I’ve posted over 300 in the last 8-9 years.
I found dozens of tips and quotes about consistency and decided to share the (updated) one above.
The Tip sums up what was true in 2015 when I first posted it, and what is still true today.
While it sounds simple, I realize that consistently creating great, original content is not easy and can be overwhelming.
Here’s why it’s important though…if you want the right people to find you, your business, your services, and your products, it’s vital for them to see you, learn about you and know what action to take in order to work with you.
Take a look at the six C words in the image above.
Now, reflect on what each word actually means in the context of marketing your business:
- Create (bring something into existence)
- Consistent (make a schedule and stick to it)
- Compelling (unique, authentic, help your audience grow)
- Content (text, video, audio, images – any or all)
- Critical (make a commitment to do it)
- Competitors (how do you stand out?)
Do you have any gaps in your content marketing? Weak areas?
Take note and make a plan to shore up your visibility with consistent, compelling content.

It’s not difficult. It takes consistent action. 😎

Consistent creation of content makes you visible to the wide world. Not everyone will like or agree with what you say, but as long as we please the right people, we will build work relationships. Everyone that is a content creator should know these 6 C’s. Thanks for the share Denise 😊
thank you, Luc, I appreciate your affirmation about consistency!

One day at a time, Vicki. You’re doing it!
Great quote via Luc. Yup, making content compelling is one of the biggest challenges.
Truly. It’s also easy to forget that what we know so well and may not think is compelling, will be compelling to someone else.
