In this episode of Adventures in Visibility, Mike Allton of The Social Media Hat, and I discussed the powerful social media management tool, Hootsuite.
Mike Allton is the “Hootsuite Helper” as dubbed by Mark Vang during the Hangout. He is a Hootsuite Solutions Pro and a Social Media Manager in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mike has been working with websites and the Internet since the early ’90’s. He is active on all of the major social networks and enjoys writing and teaching small business owners on how to leverage the Internet to promote and grow their business.
Mike’s deep knowledge was apparent from the get-go. He shared at least a dozen Hootsuite tips including how to use it as a social listening tool as well as how to curate a steady stream of content for your followers on multiple platforms.
Enjoy and please share your thoughts and questions for Mike in the comments below the video.

UPDATE: Mike Allton has published the definitive guide to using Hootsuite, The Unofficial Book on Hootsuite. If you want to master the best social media management tool, then you’ll want to read and study Mike’s book.

Another great post. MIke is a font of knowledge. Lover the geo search; listening strategies and tab settings.
Setting up streams, using templates and content curation, syndicator and other apps was explained so adeptly by MIke so I now understand how to use these tools.
Great information on Hootsuite! Need to go back and review more! Thanks!
It’s good to learn new things about HootSuite. I thought I had it all figured out. Thanks for this!
