As you may know by now, I’m a Google Fangirl so when I was asked by Yvonne DiVita, founder of BlogPaws to present a session on Google+ Hangouts on Air at their conference, I said “yes!”. The slidedeck is below and while it’s better with narration, you’ll be able to get the points pretty well.
I was pleased to have full room and that several people approached me afterwards letting me know they were excited to get started using HOAs for their blogs and businesses. That was music to my ears as it was my sole intention to inspire some people to get started using Hangouts.
The pet industry of veterinarians, shelters, suppliers of products and food have an outstanding opportunity to connect with and educate the public about their missions to protect and care for our furry and feathered friends. The purpose of the conference is to educate pet bloggers and others in the industry on how to use social marketing and blogs to get their voices and messages out to bigger audiences.

I met many people dedicated not only to their own pets but to helping important causes such as eradicating animal abuse, rescuing and fostering injured strays and educating the public on nutrition and how to prevent pet diseases. All in all it was very inspiring.
Finally, I spent about a half hour talking with Eldad Hagar who has devoted his life to rescuing abandoned and injured dogs (mostly). The videos of his rescues are unbelievable and have raised nearly $2 million in small donations from around the world for his non-profit foundation Hope for Paws. As business owners, we could all take a lesson from Eldad’s ability to tell a story and connect so directly with his viewers.
I’ve invited Eldad to be a guest on Adventures in Visibility to share with us how he creates his incredible videos. Stay tuned for details.
Hi Denise,
Excellent! Hangouts are the wave of the present and future because video’s becoming more popular, as a trust building tool and as a change up to traditional text-based blog posts. People like seeing humans chat on camera. Makes them more real.
Thanks for stopping by Ryan. I agree, the eye to eye contact that’s possible with video makes it so intimate. Hangouts on Air are relatively easy to use so the barriers are coming down for most small businesses.
Denise, I really believe in the power of Google Hangouts for business. As I said in my public share, I believe that video\’s are going to be the kings of content in 2014 and we need to learn to utilize the power that it has on our business and the way it affects people!
I couldn’t agree with you more, Wade. I feel like I’m on a mission to get businesses and profesionals using Hangouts so they can accelerate their video creation. Thanks for stopping by and for sharing the post!
