In this Adventure in Visibility, I hung out with Luna Jaffe, founder and CEO of Lunaria Financial, Ltd, a boutique advisory firm in Portland, Oregon. Luna is the author of Wild Money: A Creative Journey to Financial Wisdom, Wild Money: A Financial Field Guide and Journal and the e-book Zelda’s Financial Field Guide: A Visual Glossary.
If you’re self-publishing a book, you probably know there are a lot of costs involved. You may have wondered if you should do a crowdfunding campaign to help defray the expenses and publish your book.
Luna and I talked about her adventure using Kickstarter, the crowdfunding site, to publish her books. Luna reveals why her campaign was almost rejected by Kickstarter, and that it took some creative thinking to make it happen.
During the Hangout, we discussed:
- Why Luna choose Kickstarter
- What’s involved with using Kickstarter
- Luna’s tips for using Kickstarter to publish a book
- How the Kickstarter campaign impacted Luna Jaffe’s business
