How do you feel when you hear the words, “we need to talk”? My first reaction is physical like I’m going to get sick. Not rational, I know, but it seems like that tiny phrase is always followed by a difficult conversation. Yesterday, I got some laser coaching around my physical reaction when I interviewed Andrea Lee, my business coach, about her new book, We Need To Talk: Your Guide to Challenging Business Conversations.

During the Hangout, Andrea invited the audience to post about the strategies that resonated the most with them. I invite you to do the same.  For me, strategy #1 is one I struggle with from time to time. As Andrea says, “saying no, gives you the space to say yes.” For me, I tend to say “yes” more than “no” and suffer from FOMO… fear of missing out. That gets me in trouble sometimes when I find myself overwhelmed and over-committed.
