Curious about how to set up a podcast on iTunes? I'm frequently asked about how to create a podcast. Awhile back I created a video tutorial my students in From Platform to Profit (now available as a home study course!) about how to create a podcast on AudioAcrobat since that's how I do it for my Online Visibility Tips podcast. Here's the video with the steps to get started publishing your own show (audio or video) on iTunes. NOTE: This tutorial presupposes that you are already creating audio and video content and are ready to distribute it via a podcast.

I've also written about audio and video podcasting on Biz Tips Blog over the years so here are a couple of articles that may also help you:

Denise, this is an awesome video tutorial of how to set up an audio or video podcast using audioacrobat. THANK YOU!
I have a question.
What do you think of creating a video podcast and then extracting the audio and creating an audio podcast and submitting both to itunes as two separate podcasts?
iTunes has an audio podcast category and a video podcast category.
I want to do a video podcast to post on my blog, simply to create a more intimate relationship with my readers. But I’ll also post the audio podcast there on the blog as well.
Do you think I’ll get more visibility in iTunes doing it this way?
Thanks for the help!

Hey David, thanks for stopping by. I don’t know iTunes’ policy for duplicate content. I always say test and see which is more popular. As far as visibility is concerned, it would seem you’re doubling your chances of attracting audiences for each format. I haven’t tried what you’re contemplating so I don’t have a good answer for you. Try it and let me know how it goes!

Thanks this is great information. If I create a video using Ustream can I then post it as a podcast?
DeniseWakeman
You can create a video podcast with any video file. I haven’t used Ustream but if you can download the file after it’s recorded, then you can use the file in your podcast.

Michele, be sure to let me know when you get your podcast set up. You always deliver exceptional content and I love to listen to podcasts when I run and workout so yours would be at among the top of my list, no doubt!
