Ta da! Introducing the first Adventures in Visibility live hangout…
In this Hangout, I experimented with the screen sharing tool to demonstrate a simple way to promote your events on Pinterest, and the one mistake you do not want to make with your images. There were also questions about using Google+ Hangouts which I answered in the second half of the video.
Sites mentioned:
- Pinstamatic
- List of sites for creating quote images
- Get notices for future Adventures in Visibility Hangouts
- Connect with Denise on Google+
What tips and topics would you like to see covered in future Adventures in Visibility Hangouts? Post them in the comments below. Thanks!
Julia Aspinwall
This was awesome Denise! Your spirit of adventure and trying things (as long as they don’t put us in mortal danger 😉 is contagious!
Thank you for leading the way in demonstrating how to jump in and try something new, even if we don’t have it all figured out yet. I learned a lot about using Google hangouts and also loved the Pinterest tip!
Looking forward to your next Adventures in Visibility hangout!

Thank you Julia! I’ve always been an active experimenter, but sometimes I delay a little too much as well, so now I say “go for it” and try. The next Adventure in Visibility is tomorrow, 4/25, with Rachna Jain as my guest. details here: https://denisewakeman.com/hoa

What could be better than you and Rachna together??? I can’t think of anything. Looking forward to watching the recording.
Are you familiar with http://www.hypemyhangout.com? I just played with it and it literally took about 5 minutes to create a (very) short promo video with a cool banner and even music!
Denise Wakeman
Julia, thanks for the hot tip about hype my hangout. I haven’t heard of it, but you can bet I’ll be checking it out right away!
Patricia Weber
Wow – that’s a cool kind of like app.
But what do you use to create the banner WHILE you are live?
Julia Aspinwall
Hi Patricia,
I heard Denise talk about the banner that shows up during the live hangout in her webinar on Boosting your business with Google+. I found it to be extremely valuable and worth the time to watch the whole thing – 1 hour and 45 minutes! I broke the viewing into chunks based on who was presenting.
You can sign up to watch the replay for free at the bottom of this post: https://denisewakeman.com/online-visibility/google-plus-online-visibility/
(I’d tell you directly but I’m not sure if that’s kosher and besides, the webinar video is totally worth watching for all the other valuable information :))
Denise Wakeman
Pat, the “lower third” banner is created using an app called Hangout Toolbox which you can activate when you start a hangout.

Thanks Julia! Yes; I was on the call too and found it totally inspiring and helpful.
Thanks for clarifying for me Denise!
Lynne
Thanks for the tips! They have been very helpful! Pinterest has been useful to all those who would like to get more traffic to their site.
Michele
Denise,
I liked this tip very much. I love the fact that you are doing this and learning and teaching us at the same time. I too am moving over to this platform and I love seeing you doing this and having some fumbling as well. It makes me feel normal. Thanks Michele
Denise Wakeman
Thank you, Michele. We all start from zero when we try new things. That’s why I’ve decided that if I don’t try, I don’t know and can’t move forward. What kind of things are you planning on doing with G+ Hangouts?
Michele
Denise,
I am planning on doing women’s wellness tips and doing webinars. I was wondering do all the people in my circles see my stuff or is it like facebook and only selected people see it. I have paid to advertise my page on facebook and I am disappointed that not all my fans get to see what I post. Blessings Michele

Enjoyed this to the max, Denise!.
Google+ Hangouts are superb and savvy (and cost effective). Whoot!
You did a wonderful job and I always appreciate your candor. 🙂
Oh, by the way …
Your Pinterest tip is SO helpful. I’m one of those gals who does a lot of re-pinning (probably too much LOL!) but now I know the right steps for adding my own pins.
Thank You!
Denise Wakeman
So glad you enjoyed the Hangout, Melanie, and wonderful to see you stop by. Hope you’re doing well!
Lynne
Fantastic fantastic fantastic webinar with double duty awesomeness. Thanks for teaching the pinterest tricks & tips AND google hang outs info. It makes me feel a little better about using Google +. Baby steps. Baby steps. Love it. Thanks Denise !
Denise Wakeman
Thanks, Lynne! My goal is to do these hangouts every few weeks. Can’t wait to get you ramped up too! I’ll be in touch…blog on! 🙂
